A very small dose 2.5 mg (which is guess is 1/2 of the smallest pill available?) at bedtime, but I am happy they are putting him on it in addition to the ritalin. He really needs it & I hope it helps him sleep. I am crossing my fingers that we see some good results! Just curious, how much is Maddie on each day? Hi Becky, Maddie gets 5mg at night. However, we started her out at the small 2.5 dose. Dr. Capone always does it that way. Good luck. Donna

I know kidos on this med too and dont know if it is that different from risp. besides the weight gain. I agree Donna, when it is about knowing we want to help our kids it is just in all the trail and error to see, thank goodness this was the thing for Maddie as I know it is for many on list. dont know if we will try an anti depresent for a while cause of his moods. has Maddie tried these? was on celexa for a while, anyway, thank you so much, it helps to hear all this.I can tell this med. gave Maddie some relief inside. take care Donna! Dawn Hey Dawn, Maddie was switched from risperdal to abilify over a year ago. We haven't seen anything different than we did with the risperdal, but it has managed to keep the undesirable behaviors away. I agree it's not for everyone...that's for sure. We've never done anti depressants Dawn. Moods aren't really a problem with Maddie...at least not since starting the meds she started almost 3 years ago. Did the celexa help ?
