EEK - SHREEK! I am relocating to Northern GA in the spring and lived in

Hershey for 4 years. My son was 11-15 while we were there.

DERRY IS NOT VERY ACCOMADATING if your child has any behavior issues

concommittant with his DS. My son has DS/ASD! We fought a long hard battle

in elementary school. Life was GREAT when we got to middle school because

the teaching staff has/had several very committed teachers determined to

include children with differences. Our son's sainted teacher has since

retired :~(

HOWEVER, the principal now of the middle school was the special ed director.

She is very not user friendly. She is however, politically astute.

I would check out burg were I you and that choice is open to you. We

had no choice as we lived at the Milton Hershey School.

Also, Derry Township (HErshy) sends most of their " differently abled " kids

who are not independent by h/s to a consortium in another township (I

forget the name just at the moment) - Think it is Lower Dauphin, but I am

not positive.

For your older son: Derry H/s is awesome for academically gifted students.

They also have a great football team, a good basketball team and an ice

hovkey team.

If I can help, write privately.

Sara - Choose to make lemonade, not complain about the lemons.
