Guest guest
Well, it could have been better. Once they got in there they discovered the ear canal was all infected & they weren't able to reconstruct it like they had hoped. But, they were able to clean it out real well, plug the hole in the ear drum & do the broncoscopy (sp?). So, now we know that his obstructive sleep apnea is from having flaps that fall over his voice-box that are way bigger & floppier than normal. He coudln't keep anything down after surgery, so they made us stay overnight Dylan really stresses about that stuff & I'm sure the vomiting was more due to stress than anything anestesia related. So, the ENT would like to go in again & reconstruct the ear canal & trim those flaps covering the voice box sometime before next year. So, we go in tomorrow for a re-check & we'll see about that. I'm not real thrilled about scheduling another surgery, but if it will fix the sleep apnea it might be worth it.
