Viola,

Has your OT tried the Handwriting without Tears program? That's a great one

that they started introducing to last year. I'm hoping it continues

this year at his new school. I looked into buying the program for at home too.

Take care,

Jayne

Hi, Everyone....Viola....Gareth learned to print in 1st grade along with the

regular kids. Granted, his writing isn't the best, but it's no worse than

his older 'normal' brother. At first, we weren't sure if he was right or left

handed and kinda left it up to him as far as which hand he picked up the

pencil in. I know they did a lot of hand over hand initially to get him to

hold

the pencil properly and teach him what he was to be doing with it. In 3rd

grade, the OT that was working with him twice a week, taught him cursive

writing. Don't give up hope!!! Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
