I'm glad she was safe and on their property and not something else or somewhere else. I bet they'll make sure to keep an eagle eye out on her. Sorry you had to re-live those moments again, hugs! Are the communications still coming in? Anything exciting going on at the camp that Trisha is doing or enjoying? How is she doing? Engaging in activities, following directions, interacting with others, etc.? What type of actvities are provided? Looking forward hearing on the autism school tour. To see what type of programs are available? " Considering " , is a good start should all work out with the school district. There is another alternative route where there is a team who specializes on autism who will travel to provide their service to train everyone involved. I misplaced this information as this was just email which I thought was interesting. I just can't remember what I did with this information. But, I could be in the look out for it, if interested. Just a thought as a backup. Hopefully all will fall into place for you, well for Trisha's needs. Remember the story about the lady who had asked about you at the Mail Center? I told her I had more handouts for you to copy and she said I could drop it off and she'll do it for a very small fee. I thought that was sweet of her. So I'll pay her a visit soon. Gee, you're miss popular out here. : ) Especially when I bragged about how you were excited when you had received the package that SHE had packed for you. Just touched her heart. Speak about working it. I see it as our Dear Lord watching out for y'all. Well if anything has helped. Yesterday was 's first day at ESY and it really sounds like a great program especially knowing that I know that the educators have autism training. Normally the ESY programs are like babysitting but not this time or I'll pull him out again and have other plans for him which they know. They are aware of the areas I would like addressed and they have been wonderful staying in touch. I know its too soon to tell but day 2 so far grand and I pray that this continues. I had a name badge on on his first day even though he wears an ID bracelet but there will be days when he does not allow anyone to touch him, so how could they read the information. This helped even for the transportation people and they are nice too. The curriculum for High School ESY Program is the ALE & Life Skills curriculum and includes the areas of personal management (cooking, hygeine, reading recipes, etc.), community skills (utilizing restaurants, grocery, & other types of stores), vocational skills (work related behaviors such as staying on task, asking for help, working with others, etc.), functional academics (time, money, functional reading, personal information, etc.),and recreation leisure skills (following rules, physical fitness, sportsmanship, taking turns, etc.). Time is short, which I do not mind and he'll particpate in one domain each day on a rotation basis, Mon.-Thurs. Once again a novel, moving on to reading more before my grandbaby wakes up.
