Did she talk about vaccines and mercury?

-

OUTSTANDING! Fox News showed a good 20 uninterrupted minutes of it

live. I really wish EVERYONE on this list could have watched her very

heartfelt, very detailed speech. She clearly addressed ALL of our

issues. It is everything and then some - what this group wants. Yet,

unfortunately, too many will miss the message and attack her hair and

glasses.

I'm officially off the fence.

No, she didn’t. But it was a really good speech in terms of our

needs. Here's a link to her speech today, it's the second video that comes on,

not the 1st short news cast the second is the full 20min speech

http://kdka.com/politics/.Palin.Coraopolis.2.847801.html

Here is the Obama special needs video on his website. Which is

also a very good speech in our favor.

Honestly. It great that she talked about that stuff. But, my school district gives us everything we need. He gets a ton of services. My son won’t need a group home or a special job when he gets older, because he’s going to be independent- thanks to biomed treatments and the school program. His plan is to go to college, get married and have 3 kids (I talked him down from 5). He wants to be a teacher or a meteorologist. Maybe both. I wouldn’t put it pass him to be president of the United States, since his grades, so far, are better than our current president.

Hip Hip Horray for the Palin supporters- but ALL of my needs weren’t talking about. What “this group” wants is pretty clear and Palin didn’t talk about them. Or did I read it wrong and you mean another “group”?

I said our needs, not group. I think it's awesome that you

have such great services and your son is doing so great. I meant for

those of us who may still be in need of services, whose children are still very

much on the spectrum. No she didn’t mention vaccines. And I

obviously agree with our needs including biomedical treatments, and vaccine reform,

but beyond not including that, it was still a good speech.

The video of Obama didn't mention vaccines either but again was

a good speech. He does say that " some conditions like autism don't

appear until 2 years… " , It think it's excellent he acknowledges they

aren't all " born with " .

Why don't you take a look at both of the videos. -

Hey- I agree that Obama needs a little more education when it comes to autism. But, I agree with him on other issues- so it’s a compromise. No one is perfect.

She did say “what this group wants”. Doesn’t that mean EOH?

Ok- I read Palin’s speech and wasn’t very impressed.

Understandably, then, many families with special-needs children or dependent adults are concerned that our opponent in this election plans to raise taxes on precisely those kinds of financial arrangements. They fear that Senator Obama's tax increase will have serious and harmful consequences -- and they are right. The burden that his plan would impose upon these families is just one more example of how many plans can be disrupted, how many futures can be placed at risk, and how many people can suffer when the power to tax is misused.

Our opponent has an ideological commitment to higher taxes. And though he makes adjustments on his tax plan pronouncements seemingly by the day, his commitment to increase taxes remains the same. McCain and I have just the opposite commitment. We intend to lower taxes, promote growth, and protect the earnings and savings of American families.

This whole section, IMO, is a LIE. Obama has said over and over and over that he is not raising taxes on 95% of working families.

Plus- the Republicans (the party of McCain and Palin) have cut taxes for the rich (like oil companies) for YEARS. Add the cost of a pointless war to that and you have tremendous debt and no money for special needs.

How many families of special needs children do you know make over $250,000? I would not use the word “many” like Palin.

“Obama's plan is to roll back the Bush tax cuts on the top two tax brackets. In practice, this means that people with income above $200,000 for single people and $250,000 for couples would see taxes increase.”

http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/809/

This crap really pisses me off. They are lying and trying to scare parents into voting for them.

I will admit that some of what is written for Palin I agree with. But, that doesn’t mean that I can support her as VP/P. Also, her whole “parents can chose” thing- it just sounds like their whole “charter school” agenda. Children with special needs should go to typical schools, not be segregated, IMO. Take that money and build onto schools (if need be), instead of building some new place where the kids have no opportunities for mainstreaming.

Here in NY there are private schools that have classrooms in public schools.

She says she and Mc Cain have the opposite committment... That committment is to allow the rich to get richer. When Obama stated that any one over $250,000 would be placed in a higher tax bracket. Mc Cain never addressed that issue. theres a reason, he doesn't intend on increasing those taxes for that income level! Another thing I found this. This is something that makes me worry

Her TV is being paid for by big drug companies, the insurance industry, big oil and tobacco,” Ginsburg said. “Check out campaignmoney.com and see where the RGA gets its money from. They include companies such as Pfizer, Anheuser-Busch and MassMutual Life Insurance, to name a few. One of the leading contributors to RGA has been Capitol Campaign Strategies, Jack Abramoff’s group.”

She stated that the McCain Palin campaign supports full funding for IDEA. That is a valuable statement for us. We can now hold them to their campaign position, whether they win or lose. It allows us to push Republicans to support full funding. She said this not as governor of Alaska but as a candidate for Vice-President speaking also for her running mate, the Republican candidate for President.I do not support McCain Palin but I do think their campaign statement is very helpful for us to get bipartisan support in Congress for IDEA funding. I am glad she took this position. Are the republicans in Congress supporting IDEA too? Palin is just a gov. in Alaska. She won’t have a vote on this in the future. Thanks,On 10/25/08 12:19 AM, " Krakow" <rkrakowearthlink (DOT) net> wrote: , I agree with you about this part. But she advocated full funding for IDEA. THat is a change from past Rep. policy.I have no idea how she thinks a McCain-Palin administration will achieve this - cutting research dollars, already scarce is not a great idea. Creating "efficiencies" is a vague promise and not very doable. But the news is that we have a bipartisan commitment to fully funding IDEA. That is valuable for all parents of children in special education.Obama already supported it.Ok- I read Palin’s speech and wasn’t very impressed.Understandably, then, many families with special-needs children or dependent adults are concerned that our opponent in this election plans to raise taxes on precisely those kinds of financial arrangements. Obama has said over and over and over that he is not raising taxes on 95% of working families.Plus- the Republicans (the party of McCain and Palin) have cut taxes for the rich (like oil companies) for YEARS. Add the cost of a pointless war to that and you have tremendous debt and no money for special needs. How many families of special needs children do you know make over $250,000? I would not use the word “many” like Palin.“Obama's plan is to roll back the Bush tax cuts on the top two tax brackets. In practice, this means that people with income above $200,000 for single people and $250,000 for couples would see taxes increase.”http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/809/This crap really pisses me off. They are lying and trying to scare parents into voting for them.I will admit that some of what is written for Palin I agree with. Here in NY there are private schools that have classrooms in public schools.-On 10/24/08 10:21 PM, "Chap'N'Alli" <chapnallicomcast (DOT) net> wrote: I said our needs, not group. I think it's awesome that you have such great services and your son is doing so great. I meant for those of us who may still be in need of services, whose children are still very much on the spectrum. No she didn’t mention vaccines. And I obviously agree with our needs including biomedical treatments, and vaccine reform, but beyond not including that, it was still a good speech. The video of Obama didn't mention vaccines either but again was a good speech. He does say that "some conditions like autism don't appear until 2 years…", It think it's excellent he acknowledges they aren't all "born with". Why don't you take a look at both of the videos. - From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of christineSent: Friday, October 24, 2008 10:07 PMTo: EOHarm Subject: Re: Palin - this morning - speaking in DETAIL re: Special Needs!Honestly. Maybe both. I wouldn’t put it pass him to be president of the United States, since his grades, so far, are better than our current president.Hip Hip Horray for the Palin supporters- but ALL of my needs weren’t talking about. What “this group” wants is pretty clear and Palin didn’t talk about them. Or did I read it wrong and you mean another “group”?Thanks,On 10/24/08 9:59 PM, "Chap'N'Alli" <chapnallicomcast (DOT) net> wrote: No, she didn’t.
