OT/ Lead in Halloween Star Wars costume

Forwarded with permission from another list:I received a Star Wars Costume a few days ago that I ordered online from discountstarwarscostumes.com. Upon opening the "Deluxe Anakin" costume (manufactured by Rubies and also available at many other Halloween costume websites), I noticed that the vinyl smell was VERY strong. I suspected that there might be a real problem, and sure enough, the vinyl portions of the costume (it has a lot of vinyl!) contain enough lead to show up to turn a LeadCheck testing swab bright pink. I have emailed CPSC but I'm not sure I'll hear back from them in time for other children to be kept safe from this toxic product. Anyway, pass the word on!
