Guest guest
I posted awhile back about my daughter, . I have a problem. We filled out the Autism checklists and my scores were pretty high, her teacher's were much lower. Her aide's score was in between. The problem is her Ped thinks she shows alot of signs of Autism BUT since she is soo old, that it can't possibly be Autism. Because Autism is just NOT diagnosed at 10 years old. Am I wrong for thinking that we are working with her developmental age and not her chronological age? I have been asking for an eval for a couple years now....so technically she could have been diagnosed earlier. Nobody around here has ANY experience with dual diagnosis......so, how are we going to get anywhere? It's not the same as a child with just Autism.... From what I understand, the school wants to stay away from autism so they don't have to come up with an additional amount of money for services for her. I really don't know what to do. I wish Dr. Capone was here to see her! If I could afford for him to come see , I would do it in a heartbeat. Does anyone have any advice? Anything? Thanks...
