Hi Jayne,

In your position, I would write a letter to the teacher asking for

another meeting. In this letter you could include a list of specific

issues that you want discussed including aides' comments, ie YOU set

the agenda. If you want, you could ask the teacher if there are

specific issues she wants to discuss too. Then take a copy of your

agenda to the meeting and try to stay on track.

If the discussion shifts to a different issue, you can politely say

you'd be happy to discuss this issue, but at another time, and that

right now you'd like to deal with the items on the agenda.

Can you take someone with you to the meeting? It's hard to control

the direction of a meeting when you are by yourself and dealing with

the issues. Plus, another person will give you moral support and a

second point of view of what occurred in the meeting.

Good Luck,

Lisette

(dealing with all this school stuff too at the moment)
