Guest guest
Check list for SSEDD (School Special Ed Department Development Disorder) If your school has 2 out of 10 your school has an average rate of SSEDDD. If your school has 3 out of 10 they have a moderate rate of having SSEDDD. If your school has 4 or more out of 10, DUE PROCESS! 1. team talks at you instead of to you. 2. you hear " we don't need to put that in the IEP " . 3. how goals will be measured: Teacher observation. 4. parent's observation do not count because the school " did not see them " . 5. LRE = sitting in the cafeteria with the same special needs children from class with no interaction with non-disabled peers. (Osmosis?) 6. Present level of performance tells you they have good days and bad days. 7. It takes many years of parent requests to get an AT evaluation done. 8. cookie cutter IEP's 9. Progress Code- ES, the same skills has been ES for years. (how long does a skill need to stay emerging before they realize something isn't working?) 10. refusal of 1-1 aide as the school doesn't feel that the child needs it, however, the aid in the classroom spends intense 1-1 time working with child, taking child to resource, helping child with self-help, helping etc. But they don't need 1-1 aide.
