Hi a,

Have hope! Josh has hated pooping since he was born! We went

through years on Senna products and started Miralax about two years

ago. It makes it difficult for them to withhold, but Josh still

became a master making a weekly suppository, enema necessity. Even

a few trips to the emergency room because he wouldn't pee for a few

days. Just being in the emergency room usually solved the problem.

They increased the Miralax and I went through a year (a v e r y

l o n g y e a r) of 2-3 baths a day for Josh, scrubbed the paint

off the walls, and wore out my steamcleaner through daily use

because Miralaxed poop is the perfect medium for the budding

artist! :( We ended up burning our sofa and mattresses!

What finally worked for me was strapping him onto the potty (we

buckle up, just like in the car) and sing songs till I'm hoarse.

The livelier the better! The Miralax really helps because,

apparently, it is impossible to keep that sphincter clenched when

the " people on the bus " (and our arms) are going up and down. :)

He's been pooping on the potty now almost everyday for several

months!!!!!!!

Josh is a regular little " Niagra Falls " too. We often have days

where Mom must walk very closely behind Dad until we get to the car

or vice versa. We were at Menards last week. Josh was laying on

the floor trying not to poop and suddenly a river started to flow

from Isle 2 on it's way to Isle 3 (in spite of the GoodNites

underpants). A roll of paper towels (courtesy of a really disgusted

young man) and quick work by Mom left no trace of our visit :)

Mom to Ben (10), Sam (7) and Josh (5), DS, ASD?

P.S. Pass the Margarita please!
