Guest guest
Hi all, It has been one of those days. The only thing this group is missing is being able to share an online margarita. Took two kids with 5 diagnoses to the doc who was running an hour behind. As I'm sitting in the waiting room with Hannah on my lap I start to feel a trickle and yep, sure enough Hannah had turned into Niagara Falls. How embarrassing! So off we go to the restroom to change. She had an extra pair of clothes, but I never thought of packing myself an extra pair! Hannah has backed herself into a corner constipation wise. She had a painful BM 2 weeks ago and she figured she was never going to do that again! So she didn't, and she didn't, and she didn't. Well, had to give an enema which accomplished its purpose, but still she wouldn't go. So tonight was enema number 2, (sorry no pun intended). As soon as she's totally cleaned out then the doc wants to start her on Miralax, to just keep things going. Anyone ever used this? While my son was in the waiting room while doc finished up with Hannah, some lady asked him why he was twisting his hair so much. So he had to blurt out to her that he had Tourette's syndrome. I can't believe this lady asked him that. Am I wrong, or was this lady rude???? Last item, I asked a few weeks ago if anyone else's kid was purposely sticking their finger or spoon down their throat and gagging. Several of you chimed in to take a look at reflux. Yep, that was the culprit! Kudos to you ladies, I don't think I would have figured that one out on my own. Hannah will start taking a powder Prevacid to combat that. That's my day. Thanks. a ( Drew 13, Tourette's syndrome, OCD, ADD; Marissa 9; Hannah 7 DS/Aut)
Guest guest
a, Ah, a margarita day! Once I took to Children's after school when she was about eight yo to see the endocrinologist and right before her appointment she ran into the bathroom but couldn't make it to the stall and she peed a small lake on the floor. I didn't have any extra clothes packed for her. The nurses came up with some underwear, but it was little boy's jockey briefs. Since I don't have any boys, she had never seen a pair of boys underwear before. She thought the little flap in the front was a nifty little pocket and she spent the first half of the appointment with her hand proudly planted in that pocket. Then she decided it would be a good place to stuff tissues. I was so embarrassed but once the doctor couldn't keep a straight face anymore, there wasn't anything to do but laugh too.
