Guest guest
Hi all, I have been to visit the school that is an ABA program this am.I was very impressed with it.Its all one to one rarely 2 to 1.I was happy to see every child have an adult working directly with them. They have parent training and a parent support group plus offer lots of workshops.I would be trained in the classroom. Not in Mics classroom but another.I explained our family situation and my mom and explained that I will more than likely end up back in fla and it would be very difficult to be a strict ABA parent. They do not require our envolvement but do advise it.So we have decided to start Mic in January. They understand that communication right now is our biggest problem and are willing to create a program especially designed for Mic.They have had 2 other children ds/asd.Im glad to see that.Wow someone that understands. The drive was about 50 minutes not to bad.I also like the area the school is in and would consider moving closer.I have renewed hope that we can break thru Mics walls. It will be a much longer day for Mic but he will nap on the bus so thats ok too.Hoping all is well with all of you.I am excited and worried, like I am breaking Mics routine but he will adjust and so will I.So am back researching and the school is starting him with discrete trials so I have to go back and look at all of this ABA stuff again.Irma I am so glad I have all the info you sent me saved.Thank you.Anyone with any discrete trials info that could send it on would be great Thanks Laurie
