Guest guest
hi and welcome, nonie. i am caregiver/spouse to my husband who has gentic emphysema and bronchiectasis. he is 61 and was diagnosed in 1998. he has had several bad infections and moulds and bacteria found in his lungs but this year he is doing well. he uses a flutter valve after a flovent inhaler twice a day, then does postural drainage and never ever misses a single day. you will learn a lot on this list...........we are all friendly and helpful and will do our best to answer your questions. it is important to cough up the mucus and not let it sit in the bronchial tubes to become infected. bacteria love warm dark damp places!!! the following link was sent a whle ago but i saved it in my bronchiectasis folder. bronchiectasis is similar to the lung conditions suffered by those with cystic fibrosis but bronchs. don't have the pancreatic problems. i hope you will find this useful. the national jewish medical centre is another good site......their specialty is bronchiectasis. jennifer in canada _________________________________________Here is a useful webpagehttp://www.cysticfibrosismedicine.com/htmldocs/CFText/bronchiectasis.htmwhich explains some of our "differences" even though we may all havebronchiectasis.
