Guest guest
Sara, which one is straterra again? I think Pete was on it briefly- we tried it ( I think) in place of ritalin. It was a low dose, though. If my memory serves me, we just saw no effect at all, so we weaned him off. What I can't remember is if it has a long or short half life. If it's short, it's not too much to wean him off. If it's long, then you have to take your time. BTW, Pete's been on metadate, a slow-release version of ritalin, along with risperdal and clonidine. This combo seems to be doing the trick. We see him much more tuned in and social on the metadate. We have seem some obsessive stuff with him, but it's not dangerous stuff, just annoying. (Still changing shirts, and some more ritualistic behaviors such as arranging the two pillows on the couch just so, and telling us over and over again " Ponytail! Barbershop! Hair " , I mean, with GREAT frequency.) He's actually on a low dose of the metadate- 10 mg, and on a total of 2 mg of the risperdal. .2 of the clonidine. We haven't needed a PRN of clonidine in at least two years now. Sorry to be out of the loop so much these days. More later.
