Hi Donna,

Nice to have you back after a fun beach week. Maddie was quite the chef while

you were away practicing her skills,LOL. Zeb had a virus and later pink eye.

He is fine but never picks a good time to get sick before I am leaving for

work. I came home not feeling well. Thanks for asking about Zeb.

HAWAII?????? YOu dog you!!!! LOL How was it? Sorry to hear about

Gareth's spine though. Poor kid!!!!

Let us know how school is going when you have a better picture.

Maddie is doing good. Went for a bike ride and Duff jogged with her in her

jogger. She LOVES going to Wissahickon with us. And we took her down to the

creek...Man did she want to dive in (well, watching Allie and her friend jump

from rock to rock in the water didn't help). We let her get her feet wet,

but with all the dangerous rocks (and er, it's gross), we had to hold a tight

rein on her. But she had fun.

School seems to be going good for her. They switched her classroom, which I

wasn't happy about because the reason they did it is one kid is a HUGE behavior

issue...so they want to work with him alone in the classroom. However, the new

classroom is nicer and bigger..but they won't be able to stay t here....I'm mad.

She's adjusting though. New teacher too...what else is new. I will go in to

meet her next week.

Hi Donna,

What a lesson learn here, once my guards were down, live and learn.

But, then everything becomes pretty overwhelming. The teacher wrote

back with everything I had asked, I really did not want or feel like

communicating in person or via phone because I'm one of those who

really have to cool down when I hate something and need to have some

ammo to bark back. Hmm, almost sounds like 's moods.

The staff and herself have been trained and have had numerous

training in the areas I have asked and the strategies given to

during his moments,I would of done the same but then since

I'm just dealing with him when alone, it would of been easier in my

case to just turn around back to the van and leave and try again for

another visit to the grocery store. As a matter I did end up taking

him to the store yesterday evening and he did wonderful. I am

starting to see a pattern during the Fall season that his sensory

issues really kick in more. I guess you could say something like a

bear preparing for hibernation as he just seems too tired. I am also

starting to see that his OCD behaviors have really kicked in alot,

he is interacting well but my frustration kicks in and I really make

an effort of holding and praying for patience, when you have to rush

out is a pain to observe this. I have never witness this on him as

it has increased big times, and its interfering with his functional

skills. Can you tell I'm sort of losing it? Well, I guess I could

sort of relate to whatever is going through because yesterday

I was suppose to hang out with one of my sisters and I ended up

calling her as I just did not have any strength or energy. She too

had told me the same and had just heard one of the local news that

something is triggering everyone, so hopefully this is whats going

on with . He did wake up in a good mood this morning, it was

nice to see him back, slow mode but still good.

Good luck with the IEP meeting. I know Maddie has come a long way

with progress and I do hope they follow and respect your wishes and

goals for her. Yep, Charlyne is right " each day is a new day " .
