Welcome !! You did the right thing by coming here. First, go to Joan Medlen's (she owns this listserv) Disability Solutions issue on ds/asd at _http://www.disabilitysolutions.org/3-5.htm_ (http://www.disabilitysolutions.org/3-5.htm) and print it out (You'll see my Maddie featured in there quite a few times, as well as Joan's Andy and Beth 's " Pete " ). Give it to your ped, Maddie's teachers and therapists. If you go to this listserv's web site (_http://groups.yahoo.com/group/_ (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/) ) you will find a wealth of information on ds/asd, as well as tons of info on the various approaches/treatments that work well for many of our kids. Then come back with your questions. Methinks I am going to have to start referring to Miss Maddie as Miss Maddie D. now....;-) BTW, is Maddie a Madeliene or a Madison? She is so adorable! I LOVE the bath photo of her with her favorite ball. Cracks me up, looks like something that would happen in this house. " But Mommy, I don't care how big the ball is, I want it in the tub! " How old is Maddie now? Jayne, Maddie will be 11 on the 29th of November. Yes, the Duffey household is quite unique....LOL (I had all new guts put in my computer, so no longer have the picture of Maddie sleeping in a HUGE mess of cheese curls, but it's priceless...I'll have to scan it again and put it on file). Maddie takes a *security* item to school every day (read: dangly) and has been known to take rosary beads. I told the school she was praying for her mother. And lately, she really likes my measuring spoons or spatulas. Since cooking is my passion, I tell them she's my protege'. LOL Donna
