Guest guest
This year, for the first time, my daughter is taking a taxi to school. There are two other children in the taxi, a child with DS/ADHD in her class and a high school student who goes to a gifted program at another school near theirs. In two days, she has had four different drivers. From India, Pakistan, Iraq and Somalia. None of them spoke enough English to converse with me. The district assures me that all the drivers are screened using the same process for the bus drivers. Fingerprinting and background checks. I find it hard to believe when I'm wondering if they even have green cards. I'm trying to be open minded and my child seems to be fine with this but I'm really uncomfortable. I guess I'm spoiled because we've always had wonderful, caring bus drivers in the past. Except for one bad guy who ducted taped my child to her seat. He ended up losing his job over that little stunt. Therese Mom to 13 yo DS PDD > > Here are some more. Guest guest
OMG, Therese!!!! I can't believe that cab driver didn't get sent to JAIL, never mind losing his job!!!!! Unbelievable!!!! Maddie goes in a cab too...it's supposed to be her own, but he drives another child who also goes to MM....it's fine with me. is a nice kid. We've had the same driver, n, for three years. We feel so at ease with him, and typically if he can't make it, the guy who drives is the same too. The only problem I ever had with n, was him hitting on me...LOLOL Took care of that, though. We've had issues with other drivers before n, too. Donna
Guest guest
Thanks for all the bus stories. Some made me chuckle, some made me mad. I have to say Rochelle and Danny have always had extremely nice bus drivers. It's all the other stuff that makes me sigh. Sara you had some crazy ones. My heart goes out to you.
