Institute of the Arts in Healing / Expressive Media, Inc. in cooperation with the Creative Arts Therapies Center , NYC Presents the First Annual EXPRESSIVE THERAPIES SUMMIT: TIMES SQUARE NOVEMBER 12-15, 2010 NEW YORK, NEW YORK Art - Drama - Music - Poetry - Psychodrama - Dance - Sandplay Meet Us at the Cultural Crossroads of America! Barry M. Cohen, ATR-BC, Executive Director of Expressive Media Inc., is pleased to announce the third Institute of the Arts in Healing. Expressive Therapies Summit: Time Square offers creative arts therapists and educators, arts professionals, and interested healthcare colleagues the opportunity to come together to learn, collaborate, and network. A variety of approaches, including multi-modal techniques, will be featured. Practical solutions to critical issues facing contemporary practitioners will also be addressed. A distinguished faculty of more than 30 clinicians, educators, researchers, and others will offer an inspiring program of papers, panels, workshops, half-day master sessions, and full-day classes. Additionally, a number of short format presentations in all disciplines will be selected from an open submission process. The proposal submission site will be available from June 20 through July 1. (EMI) is a nonprofit organization co-founded in 1985 by art therapist, psychologist, and analyst, Judith A. Rubin, with her colleague Eleanor Irwin, pioneer drama therapist and psychoanalyst. Until recently, EMI's focus has been on the production and distribution of films demonstrating “best practices†in the expressive arts for education and therapy.
