This workshop is designed to bring professionals together to craft and talk, exploring the interplay of creativity, craft, community and self. Crafting in community is an ancient, timeless and present act. It restores our relationship with our hands, Through creative and contemplative repetition, In an atmosphere of spontaneous personal exchange. The steady, rhythmic and tactile process Yields quiet satisfaction, And wonderful handcrafted works. Crafting in community is a scenic path to surprising places. In this workshop, through craft and talk, we will each: Find our abandoned fiber craft project or our long-delayed desire to start one Figure out where to start, what is needed, how to get it Settle into the work Explore the effect of crafting on us, together and apart Cultivate time and place for crafting in our daily lives Work through to completion or envision its place on the horizon Enjoy and celebrate what we've made with our own hands. Facilitated by Tarz Palomba, a fifth-generation Crochet and Fiber Arts enthusiast, each group meets four times, at four-week intervals, to allow time for crafting. Imagine: you could finish that project you abandoned long ago, or start the one you've wistfully thought about, all in community with others.
