Guest guest
Some of you will remember the saga of Elie the wanderer. We moved to a house in a small town with fenced and gated yard, alarm systems, back up alarms, notified the police and Elie stop wandering. Yesterday we learned about complacency. My husband took one of the boys to an early morning program at school, leaving me home with ELie and another child. All were sleeping when BOb left. He left a side door opened for air - no alarm set. Elie awoke unbeknownst to me, dressed and " went for a walk " . Bob returned, sat to eat breakfast when there were the police at the door - 4 police cars and two departments! Seems Elie, the king, went for a walk to a house around the corner (and in a different township) knocked on the door of the elderly residents, was welcomed in the house where he proceeded to examine the house and then sat in the living room ro watch tv. The kindly householders called 911. Elie was not labeled nor was he carrying ID. Also, while I had great relationship with the local cops, the nearby township did not really know my household. Believe me, we have rectified that. WElie is now posted on ALL the surrounding township police bulletin boards. Also we have gotten new 9 volts for our backup alarm systems. And I am debating writing his name on all his shits with craft paint. All are labeled, camp style, but the cops never thought to look there. And I was so glad he had outgrown the wandering phase.
