The risperdal has been wonderful, BUT the Buspar.... well so far, NOT good! Traci, Joan's Andy was/is on buspar. She'll respond no doubt. But Maddie did terrible on it too. I only had her on it for about 4 or 5 days. Maddie went kind glossy on us too. I'm of the opinion that waiting for results is just fine, so long as you aren't seeing adverse side effects. backed me up immediately when I told him I took her off. Same thing when we tried adderall...which she was on for even less time. She was back at head-banging on that. The med thing is different for everyone. Some kids do horrible on risperdal and for others, it's the answer. Donna
Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone has tried Buspar and if it was beneficial for your child? Dr. Capone kept Gavin on Risperdal (.5), but also added Buspar. He has only been on it for a week and a half, BUT....we are not liking what we see. From what I've read it takes a few weeks to notice changes, so I don't want to be too quick in thinking it's the medication, but that's what the signs are pointing to. We have taken Gavin off the buspar and I have e-mailed Dr. Capone about it. Also wanted to say thanks for the other information. We ordered Gavin the Maclaren stroller and we are waiting anxiously for it to arrive. While we were at KKI, we saw both the Maclaren and the Cruiser. We liked them both, but are glad we opted for the Maclaren......not to mention the HUGE difference in price!! Also, we started Gavin back to sensory integration therapy. We have seen SOO much improvement in different areas in just a motter of a few weeks. YEAH! Hope you're enjoying your vacation!
