Dear Art Therapists:

I am an Art Therapy/Counseling graduate student at the College of New Rochelle.

I am currently conducting a research study for my graduate thesis using a survey

located at this link:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CS3T9TC

This study asks the questions:

o Which art-based assessments do art therapists prefer to use the most and

the least?

o When and why are they using these assessments?

o How do art therapists rate these assessments on the characteristics of:

validity, reliability, providing information, easiness to use and score, and

appropriateness for specific treatment populations?

Through this study, I hope to gather enough information about the general

population of art therapists and what they think about assessments. The results

of this study could benefit the field of art therapy by creating a compilation

of data that can be used for future research studies and to identify or create

more valid and reliable assessments and rating tools.

Your participation in this survey will help me find the answers to the questions

I am asking. If you are a registered art therapist who resides and practices in

the United States, your participation in the study will be greatly appreciated.

Once again, this survey can be found on Surveymonkey.com at this link and will

be online until March 17:

This site is secure and all responses are anonymous. I will send the results of

the study to the internet groups in May 2010. If you have any questions, please

contact me at SDeigan@....

Thank you for your participation!

Sincerely,

Suzy Deigan
