Part Time RECREATION ASSISTANT Needed

The part-time recreation assistant therapist carries out trips and activities

for clients in the Adult Day Healthcare Program. In-house activities include

bingo, pool tournaments, raffles and monitoring of the fitness area; outside

activities include a wide variety of trips to museums, movies and locales in the

New York City area. The recreation assistant may also be involved with the

development and planning of engaging trips and activities. The recreation

therapy services should be meaningful and of interest to this diverse client

community. They should foster growth in interpersonal skills and psychosocial

functioning.

Weekend coverage is required; further hours to be determined.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A related Bachelors degree and experience in Recreation Therapy

is preferred. Experience in working with people living with AIDS/HIV, and/or

clientele with substance use and mental illness issues is also preferred.
