Guest guest
Why so QUIET? Was it Tony's article and here is a better link with references http://www.iancommunity.org/cs/articles/relationships We are who we are and no label or article defines any of us. Articles are written based on clinical studies that rarely affect you or me. AS is what it is and it is different in everyone. Some can relate to these articles or current research that is running in a zillion directions, but most that come to this list, come for support in "real" time life. I can give you several examples just based on my life in the last 24 hours working for a tech company at the end of a merger. Some can relate and others might say, ' is she talking physics in Chinese?' I don't get it? lol That is the beauty of ASPIRES and our community. We don't always get it. Both sides experience this on different levels. There is a horrible divide in the AS community in the USA. Rightfully so as are brains are wired differently. Those that join boards like ours reach out across boarders in search for answers NOT to destroy one another like the media alludes to, but to gain better understanding and to build bridges. That is why we are here. A co-worker was called today saying her son that is non-verbal with autism and a runner got away. By the time she got to the school they found him. He was saying, "No DADS, NO DADS." His biological father that she has a restraining order against works near by the school. They felt he must have seen him or someone they looked like him and ran. It never ends for some families. One split second and they are gone. They found him on the play ground on the swing uttering, "NO DADS." Don't get caught up in a political web from either side. We are here for one reason and that is to better our lives. It is that simple. Articles will continue in the media from both sides and many have little meaning in our lives as we live in “real” time and no two are alike. Just me. One more day at work and I embark on 10 days off…. YAHOO
