Guest guest
There are many patients who would totally agree with Cheryl but it is so very important that those with a different view are not injured by the revealing of bad news before they are ready for it. A lot of people would be happy for their families or a friend to monitor the facts for them. I know that my wife, if she ever went to Australia, would probably want the phone numbers of the doctors that Cheryl has ditched! Our doctor son is under very strict orders to be very circumspect if he finds out something about us before we do! As Del pointed out doctors cannot always be absolutely certain about the eventual outcome. There is a report out in the UK today, that placebos are as effective as prescription drugs in anxiety reduction. I dread the day when some doctor who thinks that all facts must be laid bare, or is afraid of a litiginous patient, says"Oh! For your information that drug which is working so well for you is actually only colured chalk"! Tony
