>>Thanks Goes to <<<<<<

This message is a friendly reminder of how to perform some routinemonthly maintenance on your PC, to help improve performance.(1) First...let's delete all the temp files on your computer. To dothis, go to START, up to FIND and choose FILES OR FOLDERS from the sidemenu that opens. In the box that appears, the default drive will beyour "C" drive (hard drive). In the "find" box, type:*.tmpThis tells the computer to find ALL files with the .tmp extension. HitOK and the computer will find the files. When it's finished, go up tothe EDIT menu (top left of the window) and choose "SELECT ALL" to selectall the files in the list. Then hit the delete key on your keyboard. This will delete all the .tmp files on the PC. The PC won't allow youto delete any files that are in "use" by the computer...that's fine, just skip those and delete the rest.Empty your recycle bin to finish deleting the files from your PC.(2) Next, we will run Scandisk on your hard drive.First, RIGHT CLICK your mouse anywhere "empty" on your desktop. >Fromthe dropdown menu that appears, choose PROPERTIES. Choose the SCREENSAVER tab...and set your screen saver to NONE so it won't interfere withScandisk.Look in the lower right of your screen...right click on the icons yousee there. If "close" or "exit" is an option on any of the icons, closethose items that are running to avoid interfering with scandisk.Then...Go to START, up to RUN and type in:scandiskRun Scandisk on drive C, with "thorough" and "automatically fix errors"checked. (If you ever need to run scandisk on a floppy disk, to repairit, etc.,...substitute the appropriate drive letter "A" etc.)Depending on the size of your drive, it could take a while to run (ittakes 8 hours on my 17 GB drive)...It will locate and fix any software errors on your drive. REBOOT thePC.(3) When done...set your screen saver back to what you had it on.

Best Wishes always,TheresaLUPUSNEPHRITIS-subscribe
