Guest guest
There are psychology, social work and creative-arts therapy internships and volunteer opportunities available this summer at the Birch Family Camp of One Heartland, an amazing program for families impacted by HIV/AIDS and poverty from NYC. Each August, over 100 families attend Birch Camp, and while kids from urban NYC experience traditional summer camp activities they have likely never been exposed to, such as boating, fishing, swimming, arts and crafts, campfires etc., parents learn important life skills as well as meet and bond with others dealing with similar challenges. Opportunities are available to come to the camp in August for either one two sessions (dates -- 8/14-8/20 & 8/21-8/27) or to volunteer/intern in the office during June and July. So, if you are looking for an internship (for the entire summer or for one or two week sessions in August) or to volunteer, please consider this program. Attached is a video of the camp here: Links to the organization's web sites: http://birchfamilycamp.org/ http://oneheartland.org/ The volunteer application. http://oneheartland.org/images/stories/2011_birch_family_camp_vol_application.pdf Please feel free to contact me at alixkutnick@... or alexandra.kutnick@... with any questions.
