Glad you learned about AS so young!

Hi : My son was dx. before AS was acknowledged in the USA and yes there can be a benefit growing up at a young age knowing one has AS. By the time my youngest daughter graduated from High School the Valedictorian had AS and gave a brilliant speech.

Due to advocacy and highlighting young people with AS, many but not all in his generation have learned to to accept and use AS as their strength with support from all around them due to services their families have fought for. They have also been a generation experimented on as no 2 are alike which has led our community to be separated and divided on how we look at AS and respond to it.

I think a plus for this generation is to look at some in the adult community who are living the good life. Every story is different but there are a lot of positive role models and every generation advocates differently as times change as we learn more about how our brains functions and that AS affects everyone differently.

Just me.
