Of course it was mostly men! The Moms were all home taking care of their

difficult children who just happen to have behaviors that are autistic-like.

But hey, I think we are missing a truly marketable moment here...

I say we tell the NDer's that Savage is calling them all a bunch of parasitic

posers and let him deal with them for a while...

Just showing again how little he knows about autism-taking an

autistic child to protest on a NYC corner??? He must not have heard

about how our kids are 'runners'--but I guess since there isn't a

drug for that it isn't a symptom on his radar.

i should clarify that my line of thinking is to show who the

real 'fakers' are--that there is misdiagnosis going on, but in the

adult community not our kids. I wouldnt mind hearing him bash those

guys.

get his spectrums right. (Although there really is little functional

difference between fascism and communism, imo, both embrace state

Of course he doesn't!! If he knew the first thing about the autism community he

would never have made the 99% or the bad-parenting comments to begin with.

He is a piece of shock-talk trash who will spout anything that pops into hi head

just to get people to tune in. What amazes me is not that he said it, not that

he still has sponsors and not that he won't be censured. What amazes me is the

people who have more than a little intelligence who will suspect he is on to

something simply because it presents an opinion they find easy to fit into their

own preconsived notions.

I make no secret that I have an autistic kid among the people I work and play

with. Three times today I have had to argue that Savage is off his tree in this

regard, and wanted to do nothing more than to shout at them " For the love of the

Lord Jesus! It is two thousand and eight! Please let Bettleheim rest in

peace!! "

Actually I'd like to see some of our kids comment about how each and

everyday they have to work toward being accepted and be held to a

double standard. Hear from individuals with ASD and parents of kids

who strive for acceptance each and everyday.

Statements like this are ammo for the folks that don't think our kids

belong in general education classrooms, on playgrounds, on airplanes,

in their own churches, etc.

I'm sorry but I think we need to let the folks this most is

affecting, the hurt the bullying and discrimination does, and what we

need to do to fix this.
