DESCRIPTION:

Summary

The Director of Therapeutic Activities/Creative Art Therapies will create and

develop a planned program of diverse meaningful therapeutic art, recreation,

music and other creative and therapeutic interventions and health care services

that engages the interests and participation of an active client community. As

part of the management team, the position involves the supervision of staff,

program development andcoordination, and direct client care and interventions.

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Recreation Therapy or Creative Art Therapy, and licensed in

NYS Creative Art Therapy or Certification in Therapeutic Recreation Services

preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered - the

candidate should possess at least five years of administrative, supervisory

and/or clinical management in planning and implementing therapeutic activities

for persons with HIV/AIDS, chemical dependence, and/or mental illness.

Proficiency in communications and organizationalskills are required.
