Please RSVP by July 5 This relaxed and entertaining workshop uses Qi Gong poetry and improvisational moving meditation, a modern Sufi tale by Idries Shah, and writing to help participants promote Flow in their inner lives and body, their relationships with others, and their work in the world. Sharing their writing with the group stimulates life-giving energy that flows to places of vulnerability and need in each person. The group closes with a collective movement exercise that expresses what participants take with them from this creative sanctuary back into their separate worlds. Bio: Dr. t Bruce is a writer, expressive arts counselor, and group facilitator specializing in healing story. Since 1994, t has used expressive modalities to support resilience in hundreds of people in Washington, DC and New York who are coping with various life issues. She worked with families and communities after 9/11 and has trained caregivers and first responders in creative approaches to reducing stress and secondary trauma. t has a Ph.D. in Expressive Arts Therapy and Transformational Education. In 2004-2005, she was a research fellow at the Library of Congress, where she researched a book in progress about the transforming power of art, myth, and ritual with violent, mentally ill prisoners.
