Telling Family and Friends

I am new to the group so this subject has probably been discussed before, but I was wondering how family and friends usually deal with a child's diagnosis of DS. One of my twins (due in July) has DS and hydrocephalus. We weren't going to tell our families until after the birth of the babies but I had a dream that my sister came to the hospital after I had given birth and she saw the baby and ran right out of the hospital. That's when I decided to tell my family. The reactions were not good. My husband still has to tell his side of the family and then we will tell friends later. Are there some people that you just don't talk to anymore? Thank you - I just want to get an idea of what we will have to deal with.
