Guest guest
Hi all-- Our ped just called me. Last week Luke had a chest x-ray to make sure his brochitis hadn't gone into pneumonia. They took another look at the films and the radiologist says one of the wires put in place around Luke's sternum after heart surgery 2 1/2 years ago appears to be broken. She said it's not floating around and is still in the same place, but they're trying to get ahold of his cardiologist (at another hospital 1.5 hours away) to look at the film and tell us what to do. The more I think about it, the more worried I get. Has anyone had this happen to their child? I'm worried that the wire could puncture something and I hate to see him have to have another surgery, but of course if it's necessary, it just is. I'd appreciate any thoughts or experiences you might have had. Everything has been going so great and we haven't had any worries following his surgery, this is just really throwing me. Thanks! --mom to Luke (ds) and Jake--turning 3 next month!
Guest guest
Hu, fellow lurker here... I had to responde... Just a few weeks ago we also had x-ray shows brochitis possible pneumonia. ALSO a broken wire from heart surgery! I got ahold the heart drs sent me over to the surgeron... was told as long as it was not sticking out the chest and no red spots, was not much to be done. It is a common thing that happens. Not common for us.. I wished it didn't happen.. but the only way to fix it go back in again.. that OK.. also soon to be 3yrs old!!! ,mom to 11yr(DS),Dayton 6yr(DS) and 2yr(DS)

Guest guest
Amazing HUH! will be 12 this year... ARG!!! Dayton soon to be 7(June) and will be 3 in May. Life stays busy everyday. I read and research alot online but never post back. I often wonder how other families do it with 3 kids. Especailly those with more than 2 with DS. Our issues boil down to behaviors. I take it one day at a time. Crap.. I hear ... (ya he still gets up several times at night)... The nights we sleep all night is heaven... I think.. been a long time I slept all night. Normal it is 4hrs top! Will try to post more later.. and family
