Guest guest
I have a number of cases that I am currently working with that have diagnoses such as ODD and Disruptive Behavior D/O. Can anyone recommend any interventions for these diagnoses and/or any resources that deal with the topic? Thank you Happy Thanksgiving! Guest guest
If you are working within a psychodynamic model, I've found this book to be the most comprehensive resource on the subject - it offers a framework for understanding the symptoms involved in these problems and breaks down all of the different types of interventions and the context for each type of intervention. Children With Conduct Disorders: A Psychotherapy Manual by ina F. Kernberg and Saralea ChazanThis next book is excellent as well, also psychodynamic but a relational model that probably complements the other book in many ways. Relational Child Psychotherapy by Neil Altman, Briggs, Jay el, and Gensler This one does not have one particular framework and seems to integrate cognitive therapy with family dynamics and the therapeutic relationship, and addresses practical treatment issues specific to this population: Treating the Unmanageable Adolescent: A Guide to Oppositional Defiant and Conduct Disorders by Neil I. Bernstein I know these are not specifically art therapy books, but I find most AT techniques and interventions are rooted in some type of psychotherapeutic model, such as one of the various types of psychodynamic or cognitive behavioral frameworks, so long as they are rooted in something (and not arbitrary). Good luck! Jonathon Borah, MPS, LCAT I have a number of cases that I am currently working with that have diagnoses such as ODD and Disruptive Behavior D/O. Can anyone recommend any interventions for these diagnoses and/or any resources that deal with the topic? Thank you Happy Thanksgiving!
