Greetings:

Here is my story for the day. My daughter calls me at 3PM to tell me she is at the hospital with Cass (my AS son) who brought Larry into ER last night. I said, WHY did no one tell me? Britt says I stopped by to see Cass and just found out and we went to the hospital but dad is sleeping. I said, "I am off at 4PM and will go to the hospital," and she said no, he is doing OK and we are going home and I said OK but I am still going after work and she replied, stop by and pick us up.

Apparently he was having chest pains Thursday night and woke Cass up thinking he might be having another heart attack and Cass took him to the ER. They said the top half of his heart was beating like a race horse and were able to stabilize him and told Cass he would be released this morning. Than today they discovered a bleeding ulcer and were able to repair it or do what they do and said hopefully he can come home tomorrow. He was awake when we went back and we added Britt's and my number for a contact for the hospital and I spoke to his nurse privately. He was happy to see us and we said, we would be back tomorrow. The nurse said he was doing good. They were just bringing him his dinner as he had not eaten in close to 24 hours and starving. lol

Cass, Britt and I went to dinner and it was awesome and I talked to Cass. WHY did you not call Britt or me? He said I thought about it but thought dad would be home today and than we would call you. It gave me a chance to say if this ever happens again, you need to call us immediately. I can leave work in a heartbeat and am close to you guys and the hospital. Cass was saying he was worried that after he parked the car Larry might not have been able to walk in and Britt and I said NO, you drive to the door of ER, go in and tell them you have your dad and they will take it from there or IF your dad had been in worse shape you call 911 and let them do their job. He has AIR LIFE which will cover the ambulance or if they need to air lift him out. We got AIR LIFE after I had a grand mal years ago and we got the bill from the ambulance that was USD 500.00 plus. <Wink>

The nurse said the Doctor's talked to him about stopping his meds 2 years ago and that was 6 months after our divorce was final and I had to drop him from my insurance, although he never liked taking some of the meds anyway and it was a good excuse. He had a heart attack years ago followed by a mini stroke and has had nothing but medical problems since. He has Medicare and Cass said, "Wait till he gets THIS bill?" Lol He was just treated for the gout and the bill was USD 1800.00 and does not know how much Medicare will pick up.

He looked and sounded good. I told Cass, the main thing is he is stable and let’s not worry about tomorrow as we always pull through as a family divorced or not. So hopefully tomorrow we can bring him home and I have the weekend off.

Life is full of change that you cannot build into any schedule. Life has its own schedule.

All is well that ends well.

When I got the call? ALL the anger I had felt for years flew out the door. It is amazing what goes through your head. He is the father of my kids and somehow this is just a new chapter in “our” lives. We will get by like we always have one way or the other no matter the outcome.

Life is what U makes of it. Larry was very happy to see us ALL in his room and in high spirits. It meant a lot to him and I knew it would. It meant a lot to US to know we where there for HIM. Where else would we be?

Tomorrow? Who knows what that will bring? BUT our family will unite and go on. It is called LIFE! Sometimes life throws you a curve to remind you why you are here???

Just sharing.
