As our theme, we are celebrating our history, our accomplishments, and who we are today as creative arts therapists. We welcome diversity and encourage you to send out a synopsis of what you would like to present! Please see below for more detailed information and guidelines for submissions. And remember, the deadline is March 1, 2010. Sincerely, nne Conference Chair Vice President NYCCAT Dear Fellow Creative Arts Therapists, The New York Coalition of Creative Arts Therapies in collaboration with NYCCAT, Rochester Chapter are pleased to welcome back the Annual NYCCAT Conference entitled: " NYCCAT: Celebrating the Profession " Saturday, April 24, 2010 2 Locations! Pratt Institute Manhattan Campus 142 W 14th Street NY, NY 10011 Nazareth College 4245 East Avenue Rochester, NY 14618 We are considering topics that are vital to Creative Arts Therapy as it is integrated into the workplace, community, government and the more subtle components of our interaction with society as a whole. The conference is an opportunity to bring together professionals of different creative modalities to network, support each other, and build our community. As such, the NYCCAT Board is now inviting proposals to present at this year's conference. Please consider giving a presentation at our conferences this year as your knowledge, expertise and experience in the field of Creative Arts Therapy are essential to continuing professional development. We encourage proposals that make use of the following: Modality-specific interventions or themes Various ways of collaborating and providing support among Creative Arts Therapists Creatively managing and navigating the New York political climate to practice The creative arts in clinical practice within non-clinical or clinical settings Experientials and lectures demonstrating techniques related to the creative arts and creativity for healing, growth, and recovery in challenging climates Thinking outside the box: Using the creative mind and soul to establish or reinvigorate a creative arts therapy program in a particular setting Clinical issues that are essential to the needs, nourishment and development of today’s creative arts therapy practitioners, both new and well-established in the field Other proposals are welcome Please also include your curriculum vitae, particularly demonstrating your experience applying the information given in the proposal. Be sure to include a request for any multimedia technology or materials for your presentation. Lastly, decide and note which conference you are submitting your proposal to present: Rochester or New York City.
