This is an advanced workshop for therapists with a basic understandingof the issues and needs of LGBTQ youth. Designed to be practical,creative and informative, participants will engage in a series ofcreative interventions and exercises meant to help engage and further

emotional support and development of LGBTQ youth. In the workshop wewill:Outline 5 principles intrinsic to working with LGBTQ youth inproviding safe and affirmative therapy.Experience, through demonstration, various creative arts techniques

and exercises that serve both therapist and client in more creativelyexploring and defining self-identity.Explore the intersections between roles of clinician, advocate andactivist in context of working with LGBTQ youth.

Participants are welcome to bring and share case material within theirown work that perhaps inspires or challenges them. Practical resourcessuch as journal articles, books, online pamphlets and resourcelistings will also be provided and available for participants to

review, and to take home on disk.
