Guest guest
Hi , Marcia, here, who visited your beautiful place on Vashon Island, last June. It is good to hear from you. I have to agree that, at least, with Sara, as well, I have had that exact same experience...that I have to be her eyes, her ears, her everything, in order to keep her safe. I felt she had no sense of safety and actually tested her a couple of times to see if she would walk into a body of water. I was right there, but it assured me when she went right into a river near a cabin we have, that when we were there, I could not have her out of my sight, so safety and Sara have been a huge concern of mine. She was four at the time and only recently have I began to feel that she has a bit of discernment around water. (She is 9, now)--we have had lots of swim lessons, so that is helping. In terms of wandering off--she headed down our lane with a shopping cart, once, when she was 3 or 4--saying she was heading for the store. One of her brothers saw her doing that--generally, she would stay around, as there are either her brothers/ and/or other children playing, which is a magnet for her to stick around. I also can see out of windows almost all of the way around our house, so if I saw her heading out, I could call her back in and remind her of the limits she needed to stay within
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I hope it's not to late to check in. Sometimes a month can go by and I haven't turned on the computer. If its to late I have to say that I enjoyed being a part of the group. But I am guilty of lurking. If things are stable here I only open e-mails from the group if I feel I can help or learn. I just don't have a lot of time. is doing great but still on babyfood however. He just won't try anything with texture. I have four children in three schools and I basically live in the car. I hope everyone has a nice holiday. Mom to 10, Brittany,Ally, and (DS)
Guest guest
Hey Ali! I did not see the pic of all four kids, but there are two in the album from 2002, one of and Ben and one of ! I can't wait to see how they have grown! I hope the boys are doing well with the oncoming winter weather! Pneumonia is one painful combatant and I hope you were successful in keeping them from it! You know, I never even thought about that fact -- that you are experiencing the opposite season from the States! I know I learned it in school -- but just hadn't given it a thought! I live in Houston, Texas, which must be the humidity capitol of the world! The summers can be miserable! So you just spend a lot of time either indoors, in the pool, or at the beach!! Not much of a beach (Galveston) -- we have the Gulf of Mexico, no ocean, and we are on the downside of the Mississippi River so we get the wonderful dredge water, which is normally a beautiful shade of brown (hazel sometimes)! And the temperature by this time is probably, oh, 88 degrees! Almost bath water! Just makes me want to head out for Galveston RIGHT NOW! sigh....oh well, it could be worse! At least we HAVE a beach -- lots of sand, shells and sea birds, a few dolphins, and a great breeze! Anyway -- just wanted to let you know that the new picture doesn't seem to have made it in the album!! can't wait to see it! , mom to 8-mo old twins, Warren (DS) and Sam : ) -----Original Message-----From: alimmw Sent: Tuesday, June 15, 2004 3:11 AMTo: Multiples-DS Subject: Checking InHi everyoneAli Whittington from New Zealand checking in late again. Things here are busy as usual and lately we seem to have quite a few appointments for and with regard to resolving their respiratory issues. It is winter here at present and has had a few chest infections already. We try to get him to the doctor sooner rather than later before the infection takes hold and he gets pnenmonia again. I have also added a photo to their album which is under and . It is of all four children.
