Guest guest
Kim, I just wanted to say I can appreciate your sensitivity to meds...I too freaked out on Effexor...and Prozac, Zoloft, Cymbalta...and Nortriptyline (Pamelor) and Elavil (tricyclics that are very similiar)...just knocked me out...I may have slept...but was sooo exhausted...it was intolerable. I too seem to have all the goodies of this condition...and the severe gluten, sugar, dairy & yeast intolerances + IBS-C...so wish I could even take Probiotics. ..and just have to say I am holding my breath because I have been on 5mg of Flexeril for the last 10 days. I had tried it a year and half ago...but different dr. dosed for during the day and it put me out...so after trying prozac at 5mg a couple weeks ago from yet another Neurologist...I was a mess...in so much pain...I found the Flexeril from past...and took small dose..ahhh I slept and have not been too impaired during day with drowsiness, dry mouth or dizzyness. Hoping these side effects subside and it continues to help with sleep and pain...and has helped with anxiety. Like I said I am holding my breath as I have had the experience of something that may work and it ends up being short term. I can't remember from past emails if you have been one of the group members who has tried FLex with no results...apparently it is similiar to the tricylclic, Elavil. I have had some success with samE in the past ... I have low serotonin, epinephrine & dopamine...and some practitioners work with amino acids to help balance the brain chemistry...just takes a good alternative doc and some specialized testing...but $ and availability is usually a consideration...especially when we all must get so damn tired of the trial and error process of treating the multitude of issues. I have done Yoga since college...on/off 13 years now...I do walking and yoga and it saves me...especially inversions...whether it's shoulder stand supported or forward bends... & breathing techniques...helps the lack of proper blood and oxygen flow alot of us have...OI or NMH.... Keep us all posted and thank you again for putting yourself out there...I find it simply helps me to hear of others experiences...even if doesn't work for me...to always be reminded I am not alone in this condition that can be so isolating.. Happy New Year, __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Are you taking it at night? That way we get the benefit of meds when maintenance is taking place, and not the brain fuzz during the day. Guest guest
Anne, Oh God yes!...5mg at night...I still wake groggy and " out of it " but am hoping it will subside at some point. Hoping the benefits outweigh the side effects. Thanks for asking! jenny patterson 2320 wisconsin ave nw #501 washington, d.c. 20007 hm cell __________________________________________________
