Guest guest
Well I never! Just had a brief email message from my godson, who I have not seen since he was 6 months old. His mum was my best pal at the time and she asked me to be a godparent. I moved away from the area and so did she and I lost touch with them. His mum and I have been in contact through the school friends website. That was great, it was like we had never lost touch. Great buzz. He said in his email ' I know why I was disliked at school. I have Aspergers Syndrome'. 'I am single and will never find anyone'. He wouldnt have known about Ian's Aspergers so its a big coincidence. I wrote back telling him about Ian and myself, about how we have managed our lives together by giving each other space and learning all about the traits of Aspergers so that we could make ways to cope with them. I tried to sound encouraging about the specialness of being an Aspie and that if would be sad if he considered he was over and done with - he may be able to find the right person if he knows where to look (or even how to look). Is there a support list that anyone knows of in the South West of England? He is 40 now and could probably do with a network of likeminded peers. I am not sure if he is eligible for this list, as he isnt in a relationship? , should I refer him here? Judy B, astounded, Scotland.
