therapy. This lecture will examine issues regarding what happens in an

art therapy session as well as the resulting short/long term mental

health benefits. Examples of art therapy works will be shown from

patients in inner city school settings, men's and women's jails, and

acute in-patient psychiatric hospitals. By also exploring contributions

of popular culture artists such as writers and musicians with

diagnosable mental conditions, the lecture will illuminate the

relationship between art practice and self-therapy to offer a broader

perspective of the field. Lecturer Jon Ehinger is an art therapist, multimedia visual artist, educator and skateboarder. RSVP at 3RD WARD (seating is limited)
