Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I'm looking for some guidance and suggestions of different art therapy interventions I can do with Adults who are dually diagnosed, non-verbal and OMR/DD. The members I have in the group have a range of sensory issues from ripping /shredding clothes from the body, difficulty with loud noises, consumers that make loud noises to communicate, and pica type of behaviors. The most this small group (3-4) can stay engaged with hand over hand assistance is anywhere from 15-30 min. All members in the group are also on the spectrum of autism. The ones that are non-verbal do respond to sign language, however it is their own form of sign language and standard sign. Any suggestions for literature to review or art therapy tasks? So far I have been somewhat sucessful with doing basic tactile interventions with different materials with hand over hand assistance. Thanks so much!
