Guest guest
Hello all, According to the LCAT information meeting that I attended at NYU (drama therapy dept) last October, it IS possible to obtain your LCAT from experience worked outside of New York. The tricky part is that you will NOT be granted an LCAT permit and you have to complete all requirements (client contact hours, clock hours, and supervision hours *with LCAT supervisor*) prior to submitting to New York State for approval to take the LCAT test. New York state will then decide based on your work site if you can take the LCAT exam. There is no guarantee that hours worked in another state will be approved for LCAT eligibility / license. The good news is that without a permit, there is also no time limit to accrue hours. My advice would be to contact someone from NYUs drama therapy department and ask to speak to someone on the LCAT licensure board.
