About Irma...

Hello All,

Sorry to say, I didn't get an chance to meet Irma, , and her DH

in person after all. My DH was under the gun with work deadlines and

he determined a few hours before we were planing on leaving that he

wasn't going to be able to make it. A four-hour round trip by myself

with Pete is still not a good plan- too unpredictable, esp. if I

would need to use the restroom enroute.

So, Irma and I spoke twice by phone instead. It was wonderful

hearing her voice! It was a lot of fun sharing our kids' stories.

She is truly a wealth of information adn ideas, and very curious

about what works. We had no trouble Ifinding things to talk about

for- well, quite a verylong time on the phone ; ) I really regret

not seeing how the boys would have responded to one another.

Physically, they are about the exact same size, and it sounds like

they have very similar interests. Since Irma has in-laws in Indiana,

there will be return trips there, and probably to see Dr.

as well.

I haven't spoken to Irma since she saw the doctor so I too am anxious

about how things went.

I am so glad school is out, finally. I am totally ambivalent about

our decision for Pete to stay put at the same middle school, but at

least I know we have some new supports (via Ohio State U.) available.

The long-time principal just retired, and while I have a relationship

with the new principal, I am predicting she is *very* skittish about

Pete's behaviors and may in fact be someone who would suspend him

next year if anything untoward happened. I am just keeping my

antennae out. But not for the next 11 weeks!!!! Relief!!

We are off to Cook Forest, PA, for three nights in a nice cabin. (DH,

Pete, and me.) Beautiful, deep, dark, QUIET Pennsylvania forests.

Can you tell how happy I am????
