Welcome to the group. Your experience sounds very much like what has happened to me. I started having problems with allergies. I took allergy shots, was treated with Singular for asthma and antibiotics for bronchitis and sinusitis for a number of years. After two bouts of walking pneumonia within six months, I was finally referred to a pulmonologist who diagnosed bronchiectasis after a CT scan. I asked my primary care doctor to refer me to a pulmonologist after the first bout of pneumonia, but he would not since he said that it takes a long time for the allergy shots to work. I really had bronchiectasis. I have had two sinus surgeries since being diagnosed. For the past two and one half years I have been inhaling Tobramycin the last two weeks of each month. This has kept me out of the hospital except for two bouts of pneumonia. I use the Grossan HydroPulse Sinus Irrigation System and use Nasocort for my sinuses. About twice yearly I have a sinus infection and am prescribed an antibiotic nasal spray to control the pseudomonas bacteria. The reason that my pulmonologist put me on the inhaled antibiotics is that oral antibiotics cause diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems. I am also allergic to Cipro which is most often prescribed for pseudomonas.

Do you live near Chicago? I noticed your web address and wondered if there was an association with Chicago, Illinois.

You will learn a lot from this group and get wonderful support too.
