Guest guest
Glad you are home safe and that everyone had a good time. That's so nice that you have a picture book of Maddie's 10 days too! Ohhhhh, gelatis' YUM!!!!!!!! I tried to get a place here to make one for me. They did custard with a slushie on top. NOT the same! LOL Glad that Maddie made out okay. Did they ever air the show that they were taping at her school? Gail :-) LOLOL Gail. How'd you know? I just fixed my settings back to mail and went to take a shower.....yep, am back. Did they ever air the show that they were taping at her school? They actually aired it that day on local tv Gail. I have yet to get a copy of it, but my SIL, cousin and sister caught it. Melmark is still working on getting it aired on network tv. Will let you know. <<You need to give us a detailed report on this trip. I can't wait to hear about it.>> Well, let's see Char. The overall consensus of most thrilling site we visited was the Sistine Chapel. It is indescribable!! Breathtaking!! And we had a private all day tour of Rome from a woman who has two degrees..one in art history and one in anthropology. We learned SO much from her. And my kids are quite talented in art, so it was heaven for them. Food was the best in Florence. We even broke our golden rule of not eating in the same restaurant twice....Ciro and Sons in Florence was worth breaking the rule. The waiter gave Allie his wine opener as a souvenir (which unfortunately was confiscated by airport security...we didn't realize she had it in her carry on bag..Poor Allie....I wrote to them and asked for another one). Some of my favorite memories will always be the gondola ride through Venice and sitting in an outdoor cafe in a piazza in Venice sipping champagne with Duff (the kids took wanted to get lost in Venice)...so awesome!!!!!! The only dampers were when a couple of gypsies tried to steal Joe's wallet from his pocket......he caught it in time and even got to tell them off (um.....actually, my hotheaded 22 year old told them they didn't know how lucky they were they didn't succeed...if they had, he told them they'd be in the river..LOL) And we learned very quickly how to ward off the rude, obnoxious people who jump in front of you in lines.....when you wait hours to see the statue of , you are NOT happy when someone does that!!!!! Little ole me actually almost decked a young twenty something chic who tried to jump ahead of us in a bathroom line.....;-) Everyone in line behind us was quite grateful for my boldness....LOL Miss Maddie has demonstrated to me though, that I am indeed home!!!!!!!! She's home from school with diarrhea.....ah...the joys of life....LOLOL Donna
