Guest guest
, I was given a three-month course of Sporanox (an antifungal) for aspergillus. I didn’t have any side effects that I remember, but it didn’t get rid of it either. I also had pseudomonas. An infectious disease specialist said neither could be eradicated and recommended surgery as did my pulmonologist and my first pulmonologist who sent me to the second pulmo for a second opinion. (How’s that for a run-on sentence.) I had a lobe of one lung removed, but I have still cultured aspergillus. Tell us a little more about yourself. It’s nice to get to know a little about each other. I’m 51 and was diagnosed just over six years ago. My lobectomy was done about two and a half years ago. I live in Wisconsin (in the U.S.) and am the mother of five of which two are in college and the youngest is a senior in high school. My favorite hobby is music—I play piano and guitar. I don’t do much in vocals anymore because the bronch gets in the way. Oh well, I guess we all just learn to accept our limitations due to this illness and get on with life.
