Engaging ASD Children in Play & Imagination Workshops Hello, The above workshop will be held in: andria, VA on May 24-25th, 2004 Virginia Beach on May 27-28th, 2004 ville on June 21-22nd, 2004 Tampa on June 24-25th, 2004 This two day workshop is designed to help you engage you asd child in play and imagination. What will be covered: What play is The reasons why children with austism struggle with play How to overcome obstacles in play Teaching playskills Creating opportunities for imagination Overcoming difficulties with outdoor play Creating imaginative play sequences Toys Games Music and Dance movement Books and reading; and making play enjoyable for both you and your child. Teacher: Mathieson, is a registered play therapist and consultant with a private practice with offices in the UK and newly in Virginia. She has worked extensively with children with austistic spectrum disorders in the areas of play and social interaction for over 10 years. Currently she is working on her first book which is to be released in the Summer 2004. Her educational background is in Psychology, Behaviour Management and Play Therapy. Currently she works around the world with many families and agencies assisting them in teaching programs for asd children. The workshop will be held over two days. Come expecting to have fun and get involved. Each day will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fee: $175.00 and includes lunch on both days.
