It is from Gutstein, Ph.D. His philosophy/technique is that we teach autistic children the rote parts of interacting with others but fail to teach them to enjoy being with others. One of his books is Solving the Relationship Puzzle. The others being Relationship Development Intervention with Children, Adolescents and adults. Social and Emotional Development Activities for Asperger Syndrome, Autism, PDD, and NLD. There is also one for young children that is a starter before the RDI book I just listed. There is an assessment tool that goes with it. Sorry if I'm not clear just really tired today and keeping one foot moving in front of the other. Guest guest
I have heard of this but I'm talking about a couple of years ago where I heard from Dr. Gutstein at a conference. It was all new to me at the time and I did not give it much thought as I was still trying to learn the ASD issues. I did reserve some sites within time on my file for future reference. You've probably already seen them but I'll go ahead and post them. http://www.peachautismcenter.com/rdi.html http://www.connectionscenter.com/ http://www.altonweb.com/cs/downsyndrome/index.htm?page=madridei.html http://www.understandingautism.org/uaorg_4ADVANCING/UAORG_5threemodelsD.html Irma,15,Ds/ASD Re: relationship development Intervention In a message dated 2/29/04 2:30:16 PM Central Standard Time, writes: > > > Anyone heard of it? Every site just brought to a place to purchase his book. Donna
